We believe it is important for you to know what information we collect and how we treat the information you share with us. The following policy will explain how your personal information will be treated as you use our Web site and its features. “Personal Information” includes your name, physical address, email address(es), telephone numbers, credit card information and other similar information that you provide to us. We do not sell your Personal Information. We only share your Personal Information (1) outside Build-A-Mind with your consent, (2) as required by law or to protect Build-A-Mind, its customers or the public, or (3) with companies that help Build-A-Mind fulfil its obligations with you, and then only with partners who share Build-A-Mind ‘s commitment to protecting your online privacy.
WHAT INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Register on www.buildamind.com.au; Purchase a ticket or tickets for a workshop or event; Request email notification of your purchase status; Participate in a promotional offer; Provide feedback in an online survey; or Subscribe to a mailing list.
In each of the instances above, we may ask for your Personal Information in order to provide you the services or offers. In the case of actions listed above, you will be able to “unsubscribe” to these at any time (see “How to Unsubscribe and Data Removal Policies” below). It is completely optional for you to register, participate or otherwise provide us with Personal Information in the above situations.
New technologies also allow us to deliver customized experiences to our Web site visitors. At Build-A-Mind, we primarily use “cookies” to help us to determine which offerings and services may be appropriate based on your experiences on our Web site. Each time you come to the Build-A-Mind Web site, our servers collect basic technical information. For example, we may collect your domain name, the address of the last URL you visited prior to clicking through to our Web site and your browser and platform type.
HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
The information you provide helps Build-A-Mind understand how you use our website. This allows us to recognize your needs and continue to make the improvements that are important to you.
Additionally, if you have opted-in to receiving marketing or other information from our third party business partners, you may receive marketing or other communications directly from those third parties. Build-A-Mind encourages you to read the privacy policies of each and every Third Party Company and Web site that collects your Personal Information. However, whether you are receiving mailings directly from us or from our third party business partners, you will be able to “unsubscribe” to these mailings at any time.
HOW TO UNSUBSCRIBE AND DATA REMOVAL POLICIES
If your Personal Information changes (such as post code, phone, email or postal address), or if you no longer desire to be contacted about our products and services, you can correct, update or delete/deactivate your Personal Information at any time. This can be done by emailing our firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have previously unsubscribed or opted-out through the Build-A-Mind Web site but you are still receiving notices, offers or solicitation relating to Build-A-Mind, it could be that you initially opted-in to receive information in a manner other than through our Web site (such as a collection and drawing of business cards held at Build-A-Mind in which the winner is contacted by email). If this is the case, your desire to unsubscribe may also need to be communicated to the original “opt-in” source. We will promptly take action to ensure that you are “opted-out” from receiving any further mailing or other information.
Build-A-Mind does not seek to collect Personal Information about children through its Web site and is committed to protecting the privacy of visitors under the age of 18. Build-A-Mind does not condition a child’s participation in an activity on the disclosure of more personal information than is reasonably necessary to participate in the activity. Parents should supervise the online activities of their children, and consider the use of tools available from online services and software providers that help provide child-friendly Internet environments.
OTHER DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
In the event that Build-A-Mind goes through a business transition, such as a merger, another company acquires Build-A-Mind or its Affiliates, or Build-A-Mind sells a portion of its assets, your personal information will, in most instances, be part of the assets transferred. 30 days prior to the change of ownership or control you will informed of this exchange and its effects via prominent notice on our site. If as a result of the business transition, your personal information will be used in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection you will be given the choice to opt out.
